Howl 03:20
Lower your head, Everything’s said We’ll stay late until the sun is in sight I wasn’t quite right The bull was uptight I was lost I was unraveling fast Oh I’m still invited To the thoughts that you hold To the grudges you hold Well we’re clinging to the edge of this Love we want to build here for long But now where do we go? What’s left to show? You had a flowery dress I had a powdery mess Something we could dissolve I miss you so I hear the wind Of the season we dreamed We were lost, we were the traveling ones I blew away The rubble you made I was asking way out of this scheme Oh am I still invited To the thoughts that you hold To the grudges you hold And you’re clinging to a river now, howl until you bite into love Unfound or trailing there low Will you behold I’ve got the willowing words, I’ve surveyed polls from your heart I know I’ll leave exposed, I should be bold, I should be bold.

Lion's Home 04:12
First time I came back from the bush I saw a great big lion I ran, I almost screamed But I knew, I had to stand still Sleepy, the lion didn’t budge Lost into the darkness, I tried to find my way Lost under the darkness, I tried to find my way I wandered, I wandered and I suddenly stumbled over Hmm…nanana Up! the lion soon awoke, and I could hear it panting Surely he heard me falling Oh I know it’s gonna find me, I guess this could be my end So when it’s dark out, beware don’t go out all by yourself Respect the lion’s home Don’t enter the lion’s home And if you wish to trek, don’t let your dreams guide you past your nest Respect the lion’s home Don’t enter through the lion’s home Mommy, mommy, how much I’d like to be home So close to you my darling, Oh how I’ve missed you, I’ve been a sad boy Leaping from a rock, I stopped to respite Glancing past the trees, my home was near I followed my desire and rushed back to my home I followed my desire and rushed back to my home To be with you again, to be with you my mother To be with you again, to be with you my mother Na…na… na…na…na

Buried Shame 02:59
Flee, my friend, go ahead You’ll be off in a snap You’ll lay your feet in cold ocean sap The coldest ocean sap You’ve been standing still for way too many nights Your mind has bowed to many different types To many different types Bear the open wind Bear the whistle blows Bear the open wind Bear the whistle blows Friendly calls will awake you in the lavish halls You’ll clearly remember You’ll clearly remember what had been your fall… Oh what had been your fall Reefs of snow will await you here Outside the house, the one you chose The one you had to close I’m sure you’ll bring back sun You’ll sing louder and hum This song you wrote, the one on which you choked The one on which you choked And blink no more, the light The light will flood your shores, your darkened eyes, Your hazy sunrise, your hazy sunrise Don’t refrain from trying the outcome of your game You’ll soon become The actor of your fame The burier of your of your shame

Girl 04:51
I swallowed up my grievance I was tired before fighting An underlying remain Of some stupid remorse I challenged you to a race You put your money on a mule You'll pay this dearly, my friend Success cannot be for fools Girl, you need me Girl, you need me Got a handful of luck, I shouldered my way into you You didn't think highly of me, I felt entitled to you At the helm of your age, you were brewing melancholia I didn't notice at first you dreamt of pushing a stroller Girl, you need me Your jabs were vicious at first, I had nowhere to duck and hide My skin was softer then, now I got a leathery hide You wan to change my thoughts, you want to make me become faster, But I ‘ve got nowhere to go and I do one thing at a time Girl, you need me

Morning Love 02:40
Tearing my new sweater with my morning, with my morning love Heavy burden, hoping I was staying with this morning love Never fell for treason, never shouted for a morning love Ain’t got magic, but the magic is this morning love The fever has been growing like I told it to my morning love Ain’t got magic, I’ll be spending on my morning love Have you ever mounted in the morning any morning love? Ain’t got fever in the morning, I got my morning love Believing Hushing Pulsing Seething Digging Hunting Whispering Speeding Never told a mayor about the feelings of a morning love I ran past Timmy cause he’s getting rid of morning love Pull her down and rest her on the ground with a morning love Ain’t got money, I’ll be spending on my morning love Could have been a bigger heart, could have been a morning love? Won’t be waiting for the ending of this morning love The fever has been growing like I told it to my morning love Ain’t got money, but I’ll be spending on my morning love Panting Frantic Ecstatic Her lipstick Wrestling Biting Mingling A craving

Reverie 02:44
I’m singing atop all the woodroofs that block out the sunshine The notes fall like drops the Gods had ordered to stop celebrating I didn’t understand then I didn’t often laugh then Earlier I sat over landmines you’d stacked for the centuries You poured me a glass, you were patient to ask why this envy? I didn’t understand then I didn’t often laugh then Except the night with you You reached out for love, I was holding your truth Your hand was soft and thin You cured my affliction The rest was a dream Do I still respond? I won’t be your scar I won’t be at war I still do recall The strength of it all Your face tipped my soul On the brink of the longest Of November colds And yet you broke my heart With a burgeoning start You were eager to scold

Missing you 01:52
Somebody called me last week I couldn’t remember why He wished me a happy new year Told him I couldn’t, my emotions were dry Well I miss you, I miss you, I miss you I’ve been missing you like apple pie The birds sing your name in verses I try to respond in time I imagine our love rehearses Before we get back and kiss in the vines WelI miss you, I miss you, I miss you, I’ve been missing you like snowballs getting bigger as the days roll on The sun was aware that I was to dare Approaching to call you Imagining you wholly A summery body Entranced by our story I Wish I’d eat a petal of you Chasing famous dead people I caught a glimpse of your smile I know it’s just barely legal But I stole a flower from Oscar Wilde I miss you, I miss you, I miss you I’ve been missing I’ve been missing you like poems, like the blue leaves in your garden I’ve been missing you like midnight snow

Tumbling 02:40
You know I never never dreamed you’d come by You know I never never let you set fire Playing by the rules I was thinking about you Didn’t care for any body building Turned the keys and let the engine rolling You were asking for the truth I’ve been thinking about you Tumbling and tumbling and tumbling and tumble, tumble low Tumbling and tumbling and tumble, tumble low Tumble low Like a siren in a daycare center Like a guest into my country manor You were begging for a room I’ve been thinking about you Saw a cardinal on the ceiling It was a devilish type of feeling You were wrong about the view I was looking at you And I firmly believed you were like satan Your sweat fell to the floor like Chinese curtains You slid your way back on the floor Never never never never asked for more Tumbling and tumbling, and tumbling and tumble, tumble low Tumble low And through the loophole of your wildest manners I was kind of feeling boiling over I was wrong about the view I was thinking about you It took me moments to absorb your senses You were a Cadillac in the bushes I was running for a clue I’ve been thinking about you I was wrong about the view, I was thinking about you

Stack the folding chairs And untie your hair Just step right up, yeah Blur the breaded tracks Every time you catch a glimpse of her I can’t find your bellyless mind It don’t make me kind The soul I met Was some waterless sweat It don’t make me whine Hey, the silent frames, they all seem so vain, what could they say? Flights of lazy birds follow your curbs, what could they say? I can’t find your bellyless mind It don’t make me kind My soul cuts loose Like some southern juice It won’t make me climb, climb, climb Baby, I can’t believe your smile Honey, I think our bodies rhyme Baby, I can’t believe your smile Honey, I think out bodies rhyme I can’t find your bellyless mind It don’t make me kind The soul I met Was some waterless sweat It don’t make me climb, climb, climb!

We were going down the old canal together We were going where the sun would set I know you’re running through my head Stung me early with your fast disclosure Did you see I was a wounded soldier I know you’re running through my head I’ll figure out in the morning if I I’ll figure out in the morning if I stay Wanted nothing but a week alone with you Wanted nothing but the smell of pine and dew I know you’re running through my head You were acting like you had a heart attack I was hoping you would be alright I know you’re running through my head When I touched you I was mesmerized When I kissed you, I couldn’t hold the prize And I fear you, fear you, fear you, fear you I’ll fight the lion when he comes And I’ll heal you, heal you, heal you now I’ll fight the lion when he roams I’ll fight the lion when he roams I’ll figure out in the morning if I I’ll figure out in the morning if I failed And I fear you, fear you, fear you, fear you I’ll fight the lion when he roams And I’ll heal you, heal you, heal you now I’ll fight the lion when he comes I’ll fight the lion when he comes When you say it was by default Would you say it was all my fault? Would you say it was all my fault?

about

Feathership Montreal, Québec

Feathership is the moniker for Jean-Philippe Sauvé’s musical project. First assembled as a six-piece indie-rock band that was for a brief moment the most talked-about rookie act from Montreal, Feathership eventually morphed into a more personal and subdued affair, putting Sauvé’s delicate songsmith abilities to the forefront, notably on 2020’s The West Side EP.
